How we repair your car
From drop-off to pickup, here’s exactly what happens.
Most of the stress people feel about car repair comes from not knowing what’s happening. Who has my car? What did they find? Did they start without asking me?
At [atc] AutoCenter, we built our process around that problem. Every repair — from an oil change to a transmission rebuild — goes through the same five steps. You’ll know what we found, what it costs, and what we recommend before we touch a thing.
The [atc] 5-step Repair Process
Step 1: Verify
You’re here because something feels off. Our first job is making sure we understand exactly what that is.
We sit down with you, listen to what you’ve noticed, and ask the right questions. We’re not in a rush to get you out of the lobby and into the bay. Getting this step right means everything downstream goes smoother — for you and for us.
Step 2: Analyze
Once we have your vehicle, we do a full inspection before we do anything else.
We’re not just looking at the symptom you came in for. We check the whole vehicle — safety systems, fluids, wear items, anything that could affect how your car drives and how safe it is. If we find something beyond what you brought it in for, we document it, photograph it, and flag it for you. You decide what to address.
Step 3: Isolate
This is where we dig into the root cause — not just the symptom.
A lot of shops fix what’s easy to see. We use diagnostic tools and our technicians’ experience to find what’s actually causing the problem. We confirm the repair needed, document our findings, and put together a written estimate. Then we call you. Nothing moves forward until you say so.
Step 4: Repair
You’ve approved the work. Now our technicians get to it.
We use NAPA quality parts for most repairs and Jasper Remanufactured components for major engine and transmission work. Not used parts, not junkyard pulls — quality components backed by a warranty. Our technicians are ASE-certified and trained on the equipment and methods the job requires.
Step 5: Final check
The repair is done — but we’re not finished yet.
Before we call you, we run a final inspection to confirm the issue is fully resolved and that the vehicle meets our standards. We’re checking our own work. If something isn’t right, we catch it here — not in your driveway.
Only after that final check do we give you the green light.
What you can expect every time
Every vehicle that comes through [atc] AutoCenter goes through these five steps — no shortcuts, no exceptions. Here’s what that means in practice:
You’ll get a written estimate before any work begins. You’ll see photos of what we found. You’ll give approval before we proceed. And if something unexpected comes up mid-repair, we call you before we act on it.
That’s the Peace of Mind Promise. It applies to every repair, at both locations, every time.
FAQs about our repair process
Will [atc] start repairs before I give approval? No. We provide a written estimate after diagnosis and require your approval before any work begins. If something unexpected comes up during the repair, we contact you before proceeding.
How long does the repair process take? It depends on the repair. After the Analyze and Isolate steps, we’ll give you a realistic timeline before any work starts. We don’t guess — we tell you what we actually know.
Does [atc] take photos during the inspection? Yes. We document what we find with photos and walk you through them when we call with the estimate.
What parts does [atc] use? We use NAPA quality parts for most repairs. For major engine and transmission work, we use Jasper Remanufactured components — not used or junkyard parts.
What if I bring my car in and you find more than one issue? We’ll document everything we find, tell you what’s urgent, what can wait, and what’s optional. You decide what to address and when. No pressure.
Does the same process apply at both locations? Yes. Augusta and Grovetown run the same five-step process. Same standards, same approval requirements, same warranty coverage.
