[atc] AutoCenter puts quality service “At The Center”

By Shannon Baker

[atc] AutoCenter owners Brian and Chris Weeks, recognize the importance of having the right concepts and attitude drive their business.

“Being a family-owned business, we treat every employee and customer as family,” explained Brian, who along with his brother Chris, purchased the business from their father and two of their uncles in October 1999.

“It’s just what we do,” he said, noting the [atc] team works hard to restore customers’ trust in their vehicles, in people, and in the industry itself.

The brothers and their employees place special emphasis on how they relate to each customer. “We want to let them know how much we appreciate their trust in us.”  Every handshake is backed by a long history.

Growing Up Around Cars & Customers

The Weeks brothers grew up in the automotive industry. Their paternal grandfather, Earl Weeks, began the family tradition in the mid-50’s.

Then in 1972, their father, Carl, and uncles, Larry and Allen, launched Augusta Transmission Clinic – [atc].

When Brian and Chris were young, they watched what their father did on a daily basis.  They witnessed their parents’ hard work ethic and how they maintained integrity in all they did.

“Seeing how hard Dad worked, we realized this is really what we wanted to do, too.” the brothers said.  “But it was the way he took care of people and helped people in need that really hit home with us.”

Brian and Chris worked in their dad’s shop during their summers and school breaks. They loved figuring out how cars worked and seeing how fast they could go!

Racing Ahead

Family history fueled by their love for racing influenced their education path.

They started out racing go-carts, eventually leading to dirt track Late Model Sportsman racing, short-track asphalt racing affiliated with NASCAR, and the road course racing with HSR & SVRA. Brian spent his time behind the wheel, while Chris served as the crew chief.

The excitement of the races led the Weeks brothers to Southern Polytechnic State University. There they both graduated with bachelor’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Technology.

“We got the Engineering degree to help us with racing but it turned out to be what helps us excel with today’s advanced car systems.” Chris said.

Now Serving Two Communities

The brothers see their business as part of the greater CRSA community where they live and serve.

And now, they have opened a second [atc] AutoCenter at 303 Grimaude Boulevard in Grovetown, Ga.

Like their Augusta site located at 1853 Gordon Highway, their Grovetown facility is state-of-the-art—equipped to handle all types of vehicle maintenance and repair.

The brothers give God all the credit for the opening of the second location.

“We can’t take the credit,” they said. “God has been leading us, and we have been following Him.”
