Should you keep your current car? 7 questions to ask yourself first.
Before you decide whether to repair the vehicle you own or replace it, sit down with these seven questions. They are the first section of the repair or replace guide we built for our customers, and they are designed to get you to a logical decision instead of an emotional one.
- Is your vehicle paid off or nearly paid off?
- Has it been mostly reliable until now?
- Is this the first major repair you have had to make?
- Does it still meet your daily needs for size, function, and lifestyle?
- Has it been regularly maintained for years?
- Do you feel safe driving it right now?
- Are you emotionally attached to it? Have you named your car? Memories, comfort, and trust all count here.
If you check at least three of those, repairing what you own may beat running out and replacing the vehicle.
